ORANGE GROUP

The Orange Group is designed for young athletes that have graduated from swim lessons and can perform the basics of freestyle and backstroke. This group focuses on developing all four strokes in a small group setting. Graduation from Orange Group readies young athletes for Blue & White Group in the future.

Entry level criteria in this group is swimming unassisted 1 lap freestyle and 1 lap backstroke. Young athletes must be able to float on their backs for safety purposes. Swimmer must be ready to have a level of enthusiasm to participate in a 60 minute practice.

Practice Schedule

Orange Group will practice Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 5:30PM - 6:30PM.

Expectations

Athletes are highly encouraged to attend meets

BLUE GROUP

The Blue group is designed for young athletes that can perform the basics of all four strokes. This group focuses on advancing technique in all four strokes, as well as the fundamentals such as starts and turns that are needed for further progression in the sport. This group aims to ready swimmers for the White & Senior groups in the future.

Entry level criteria for this group is swimming unassisted 2 laps freestyle, 2 laps backstroke, 1 lap butterfly, and 1 lap breaststroke. Swimmer must be ready to bring enthusiasm to a 60 minute practice each day.

Practice Schedule

Blue Group will practice Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 5:30PM - 6:30PM.

Expectations

Meet attendance is strongly encouraged

Training Ratio: 90% Technique, 10% Work

WHITE GROUP

The White Group is designed for young athletes who have excelled in the Blue Group or who have previous swimming experience in a competitive setting. Athletes will focus on building on fundamental technique in all four strokes, and further knowledge of strokes and turns. White Group swimmers also participate in dry-land exercises in addition to their in-water practices. Prospective athletes must be evaluated for placement in this group.

Entry level criteria for this group is understanding all four strokes, flip turns, and open turns and must have the ability to swim a 100 IM (individual medley) and 100 freestyle with flipturns.

Practice Schedule

White Group will practice Monday - Friday from 5:30PM - 7:00PM. 

Athletes should maintain 75% attendance.

Expectations

Athletes are expected to compete in every qualified meet on the team schedule and travel to their highest qualified season-ending championship meet.

Training Ratio: 25% Work, 75% Technique

White Group (HP)

The White High Performance (HP) Group is our highest performing and most dedicated group of 14U athletes. Swimmers in this group should be aiming to qualify for divisionals and/or state in multiple events, have specific long-term goals in the sport, and embrace their role as leaders in the Age Group Program.

Athletes learn how to train and prepare for Senior level swimming in this group. Placement in this group is for swimmers who should be able to participate in 90-120 minute practices.

Practice Schedule

There are 6 practices offered a week and athletes are expected to maintain 80% attendance. Depending on age, there will be optional AM workouts for this group. Athletes will also be expected to complete an additional dryland program. 

White HP will practice M-F 5:15PM - 7:00PM & Saturday Morning 8:00AM - 10:00AM.

Expectations

Athletes are expected to compete in every qualified meet on the team schedule and travel to their highest qualified season-ending championship meet.  Athletes in this group should be prepared to make the jump to Senior Level Swimming from here. 

Training Ratio: 50-75% Work, 25-50% Technique

SENIOR GROUP

Senior group is the highest level we offer here at WSC. Our Senior program is offered to athletes 14 and older, and for those wishing to compete at the high school, Sectional, State, and National level. This group trains 6-9 practices a week depending on the time of year. A comprehensive strength and conditioning program will also be provided for all athletes in this group.

Practice Schedule

There are currently 6 practices offered per week and athletes are expected to maintain 80% attendance. 

 

Senior Group will practice M/T/Th 3:30PM - 5:30PM, W/F 3:00PM - 5:00PM & Saturday Morning 8:00AM - 10:00AM. (These times are subject to change depending on time of year.)

Expectations

Athletes are expected to compete in every qualified meet on the team schedule and travel to their highest qualified season-ending championship meet. 

Training Ratio: 70-80% Work, 20-30% Technique

SENIOR CLASSIC

Senior Classic is a new training group created to provide a training environment for our High School Grads looking to stay in the water.

Practice Schedule
There are currently 4 practices offered per week.


Senior Classic Group will practice M/W/F & Saturday Morning 8:00AM - 10:00AM.

Athletes are able to compete in qualified meets on the team schedule and travel to their highest qualified season-ending championship meet.
